Audrey, Mari Carmen and Cristine, France.

Mari Carmen was born in France, but her parents are from Galicia. She speaks perfect Spanish (with a beautiful Galician accent), and helped me translating her friends.

¨Audrey’s reason for being here is to find answers to some things that have been bothering her—she says that she needed to go away in order to come back as a better person. Cristine is trying to leave behind problems that have been following her since she was a child. For me, this means coming back to my roots. My parents and my older sister are from Galicia, so this land is special to me. Some years ago I did the French Way for the same reason—I walked with my two sisters, and along the way, many relatives joined us, some of them I hadn´t seen in years. Our parents were waiting for us when we arrived in Santiago, and it was really special. This time, I wanted to share this with my friends. It’s been only three days, but we have laughed and cried already. We feel that we are letting many bad things go.”

Estamos soltando muchas cosas.”
